Howling Bluff Estate Winery is the culmination of a 20-year dream to
make exceptional wines through a combination of hard work, extensive
research, a passion for wines and a dedication to growing spectacular
grapes.
Great wine comes from great grapes and great grapes come from vines
that have been carefully tended. In 2004 we planted our first vines at
our Summa Quies vineyard. The Summa Quies vineyard is now a contiguous
20 acres surrounding our winery on the Naramata Bench. Our first
harvest was September 2006, following a spectacular summer growing
season.
Our focus has always been to produce super quality ultra-premium
wines. Therefore we are committed to using only our own estate-grown
grapes, state of the art winery equipment and only premium oak
combined with a no compromise attitude towards quality to make our
select wines, which are available in limited quantities. Howling Bluff
makes only three wines; an estate Sauvignon Blanc using our own
Semillon for blending, an estate Pinot Noir and Sin Cera an estate
blend made from our own Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite
Verdot and Cabernet Franc grapes.
